I was behind an old man

Walked under a pressure

In his silence

But it cut the distance

And created a peace

Arrived at our destination

Fresh air without pollution

Shady green leaves around

Some beautiful fish in the pond

Made us felt so safe

The whole earth seemed happy opened the door

Seeing a glimmer of hope ahead

The returned of what people missed so bad

35 Megamendung batik collections from Rumah Batik Komar are exhibited in visual form with a variety of beautiful patterns and colors. The batik was exhibited at once in an effort to restore the popularity of batik in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic

So many industries were affected by the corona virus spread, and art industry is one of them. Since early March, batik sales turnover is unstable and it’s getting worse now. Besides, there are some art agendas that should have run throughout 2020, were eventually delayed to an unspecified time. In response, Batik Komar, which was supposed to hold an exhibition in Jakarta, now replaced it with an online exhibition titled ‘Batik Komar Virtual Exhibition. The exhibition itself will take place continuously every week with different themes. For the initial step, the theme taken is Mega Mendung, one of the most popular designs in Indonesia originating from Cirebon.

This is the first time that Batik Komar organizing an online exhibition. Usually, they open their galleries on Jalan Cigadung and Jalan Sumbawa, Bandung. With this virtual exhibition, art connoisseurs are expected to still be able to see and enjoy a variety of batik fabrics with Megamendung motifs through video shows on social media Instagram and YouTube.

Furthermore, this is done as a form of their commitment to the art workers who have jointly struggled to develop batik art. In addition, this is also one of the efforts to adapt to the current situation so that it can survive and find solutions and benefit for batik business. Moreover, they still have responsibility for the survival of the employees who are rested at home.

In the future, Batik Komar has prepared several themes to be raised at the next exhibition. Among the many later themes, some of which have been prepared are the exploration of Shibotik motifs (Shibori and Batik), and also West Java ornamental motifs.

The owner, Mr. Komar, who is the chairman of the Batik Craftsmen and Entrepreneurs Association (APPBI) is trying to build a new platform (based on digital) to conduct visual communication through VBE "Virtual Batik Expo" by utilizing the technology of Augmented Reality, but considering the considerable costs, now alternatives are being sought that are more efficient and have a greater positive impact.***

At the time of writing this, my city has slept about a month and half because of a new guest named COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease-19).

When I look back on the early stories of its coming, I couldn't help but think about why this guest came here, to our country? Moreover, it hug the people like an old friend. From the beginning, I knew it was not a good hug, and I knew too that his coming was not a good news. But, people were good enough to pretend like nothing happened.

2020. Hopefully this year can bring more meaning and a lot of things to be grateful. I am not sure, but the conclusion that I've been learning about life this long is, how we can appreciate every part of it. So, as long as we are still exist in this world, that long we also need to be grateful. With every breath I exhale, I try my best to be a good person in that term.

Couple weeks ago, my colleagues and I went to have a cup of coffee after spending about 9 hours at office. After listing some places to be visited, we decided to go to a place which quite near from our office. There, we had such a good time. Talked about a lot of things while enjoying the good food and drink that we have ordered. They really sell it all, not just the cozy place like the others do. They serve some delicious food, for sure. My colleagues agreed with it, we really enjoyed our food at that time. After finishing my food, I walked around to look for more information about the place.
